Calculator for screening of advanced fibrosis in MASLD

version 1.05

This FIB-9 calculator requires 4 clinical data and 9 blood markers part of the usual liver function tests. However, urea can be omitted.

1. Single Computation

If you have only one computation to perform, use the following form. If you have more than one, see «Multiple Computations» below.

This calculator requires 4 clinical data and 9 blood markers part of the usual liver function tests.

Mandatory Variables Values Units Accepted Range
Age      Years   18-90
Weight      kg   40-180
Height      m   1.2-2
Diabetesa    No/Yes No/Yes
AST      IU/l   10-300
ALT      IU/l   10-400
GGT      IU/l   10-1000
Alkaline phosphatases      IU/l   10-300
Bilirubin      μmol/l   2-600
Albumin      g/l   12-70
Platelets      G/l   30-550
Prothrombin Index or       %   20-150
INRb      None   0.6-4
Ureac or       mmol/l   1-14
Sexc      F=0, M=1   0-1

a   Two fasting blood glucose ≥ 1.26 g/l or diabetes treatment

b   If your input variable is INR, it will automatically be converted to « Prothrombin Index (%) » according to a specific formula issued from (5) :

5. Cales P, Tuffigo M, Oberti F, Planche V, Boursier J, Fouchard Hubert I, et al.
Clinical comparison and conversion of international normalized ratio and prothrombin index.
J Hepatol 2019; 70: e814-e815.

c   If Urea data is not provided, you must give a value to the Sex data and a FIB-8 score will be computed instead of a FIB-9 score.

2. Multiple Computations with urea available

Copy your dataset from your Excel file and paste in the yellow area below.

The columns in your Excel file must be in the variable order of the previous table.
Likewise, the units are the same while diabetes must be coded as 0 (no) or 1 (yes).

State the index used for Quick time:

         INR values

         Prothombin Index values

If your input variable is INR, it will automatically be converted to « Prothrombin Index (%) » according to a specific formula issued from (5) :

5. Cales P, Tuffigo M, Oberti F, Planche V, Boursier J, Fouchard Hubert I, et al.
Clinical comparison and conversion of international normalized ratio and prothrombin index.
J Hepatol 2019; 70: e814-e815.

Click  here  only when urea is unavailable.

In that case, the last column includes the sex value (instead of urea) with the following code for sex: 0 for Female, 1 for Male.

Click on the  compute  button under your data to retrieve the FIB-9 test results.
